I plan to buy a Brita jug and use the water from it to refill water containers. No more buying bottled water!

My initiative is to camp responsibly and by that I mean ensure I leave my camp site clean, pick up any trash and take it home to dispose of properly.

I have fished since I was knee-high and have always practised the "catch and release" method, as I want to do alot more fishing still. I have noticed many beer cans and garbage stewn all over by negligent people, as I fish on the shore and after I finish fishing, I then try to gather some of the garbage in my big garbage bag. I then bring it back to the City and recycle it all in the various bins that are on my way home. I want to see our countryside and rivers litter free. When I change oil in my car, I take it down to my local mechanic in a jug, where they recycle it for me. I have never used fertilizers in my garden that I have grown for the last 35 years. I started composting back then and still keep it up. I also do not use fertilizers on my lawn either, as next it will all be washed into the sewers, when the rain comes. I also have a rain barrell that I take the water from with my watering can and water only my plants, as I try to conserve on our water too.

Living beside the Vedder River, where I've heard over 1,000,000 people use that river in a year, we constantly pick up garbage on our walks.

I am and will continue to pick up garbage and refuse left behind by others wherever I am fishing. My intention is to pick up 1 green garbage bag everywhere I go into our great outdoors.!
