Can Fish Hear

can fish hear you talking

Cindy replies:

Hi Noah

No fish don't "hear" but they do feel vibrations.

My dad used to tell me to be quiet or I would scare the fish. I think he was trying to get a snooze in while fishing and I was waking him up!!

If you notice we use lures that thrash and vibrate to entice a strike. This calls the fish in. They feel the vibration and come looking.

If you are in a boat and jumping around it will scare the fish. They can feel the concussion through the water.

Feel free to talk all you like and still catch fish!

Happy talking and fishing.

Bio

Cindy Franklin

I was born in Southwestern Ontario in 1965. Both of my parents along with my younger sister and brother enjoy fishing. I have always loved the outdoors and spend as much time as I can out in it. I am an avid fisherman and hunter. My favorite hunting is for turkey and deer and my favorite sport fishing is for bass even though I enjoy fishing for whatever is biting.

I enjoy sharing my knowledge of the sport with any one who is interested. I work a lot of children's events and teaching our future anglers is very rewarding to me. If I can show one person something that will help them to catch more fish it will all have been worthwhile.

Fishing is a constant learning experience and I look forward to meeting, helping and learning from others.
