My name is Jim Sammons and I am a kayak fishing addict.

Although I've fished my whole life, I've spent the past 20 years fishing from my kayak, and have worked for the last 15 years as a kayak fishing guide. My dream (which I know many other anglers share) has always been to have my own fishing show. I, like most other fishing guides, simply love to share my passion for the sport with others.

Several years ago I began sharing my love of kayak fishing with the world through online video. Yeah, they were pretty much hack productions, but the passion was there-and so were the fish.

A few years ago, while working at an industry trade show, I was lucky enough to meet Producer, Ken Whiting of The Heliconia press. Of course, like every other person I met in the video production business, I had to tell Ken my idea for a kayak fishing show. Unlike every other person I told my idea, Ken actually called me back and said, "Let's do it." This was the start of a relationship that changed my life.

We have now spent the past two years filming kayak fishing adventures around North America. What started out as an award winning adventure movie, called Kayak Fishing: Game On, eventually turned into my own fishing show. The Kayak Fishing Show with Jim Sammons, will begin airing here on WFN in January 2010. Yes. I am living the dream.

The premise of the show is to fish exciting areas around the world with local kayak fishing experts. So what you will get in the show is incredible locations, great personalities, kayak fishing tips and some rockin' fishing backed by some awesome music.

More specifically, you'll watch us brave the waters of Florida's Boca Grande Pass while on the hunt for Tarpon, kayak fish in Alaska and have a close call with breaching Orcas, run rapids in Canda to access pristine and totally unpressured lakes full of pike and muskie, and you'll see mind blowing fights with bill fish in Baja. And that's just the first 6 episodes! Over the past few months, our adventures continued as we fished for tuna in Panama, learned to fly fish by kayak in Montana, and we went on a 6-day muskie kayak fishing trip down Canada's remote Petawawa River.

#As the new kayak fishing blogger here on WFN.tv, I will keep you up to date on our adventures, post periodic reports from my fishing trips here in San Diego and Baja, and toss in some tips for kayak fishing in the different areas that we have visited.

You should also check out Kayak Fishing Tales WebTV here on the WFN.tv site, through which we'll be releasing a new webisode every two weeks, all year long.

I am always happy to talk kayak fishing so please feel free to contact me through my web site www.Kayak4Fish.com. Of course we are always looking for the next great kayak fishing destination, and so if you have some ideas please send them my way.#

I hope you enjoy the show! I should warn you in advance though... kayak fishing is addictive!
